Barcelona 2-2 draw to Celta Vigo gave Madrid pre-match boost to La Liga title race but as Ramos was given red card Madrid’s match against Athletic Bilbao ended a draw with score 0-0.

Cristiano Ronaldo drew another blank in the match.

Athletic Bilbao stubbornly held them to a goalless draw in the torrential rain at the San Mames. Ramos was given yellow card in the 11th minute.

Cristiano Ronaldo was denied a goalscoring opportunity by poor refereeing when a foul was given for  Xabier Etxeita's lunge on Luka Modric despite an obvious advantage immediately unfolding.

Marcelo is closed down by Williams.



Luka Modric  is challenged by Aduriz.

With Players in team: Benzema, Varane, Casmeiro, Isco, Kroos and Ronaldo made attempts to score a goal but all were in vain.  Players of Athletic Bilbao made 5 attempts but all were blocked.

Ramos challenges Aduriz.



Ramos is given his 19th Red Card.

      

Real's frustration boiled over when Sergio Ramos pushed his forearm into Aduriz's  face to pick up a second booking  and an early bath.

It was a missed opportunity for Zinedine Zidane's side, who could have narrowed the gap to just six points, but it remains eight with El Clasico in a week.
